Male hair loss, also known as male pattern baldness, is the most common type of hair loss and is caused by a genetic sensitivity of the hair follicles to male hormones. This sensitivity causes the hair follicles to shrink and eventually become unable to produce new hair.

Male hair loss usually begins with a receding hairline and thinning hair on the top of the head. Eventually the balding areas converge and the hair that remains grows only at the sides and back of the head.

Male hair loss can be treated with surgery or medication. In hair restoration surgery, tissue containing follicles from the scalp in an area where the hair is still growing normally is removed and grafted onto the area with the dormant follicles. This surgery is the most effective and permanent treatment for male hair loss, but it is expensive at over $4,000 for an operation.

The most popular medications for male hair loss are minoxodil (best known under the brand name Rogaine) and finasteride (also known as Propecia). Minoxodil works by blocking the production of DHT, the hormone which causes the follicle to shrink. It is effective for approximately 60% of patients suffering from male hair loss, and must be taken continually to remain operative. Rogaine is a topical treatment that is available over the counter and costs approximately $50 for a three month supply.

Propecia is an oral medication that is available only with a doctor’s prescription. It both stimulates new hair growth and stops hair loss. Propecia is effective for approximately 80% of male hair loss, but it is expensive and many insurance companies limit coverage for it. Propecia also has some unpleasant side effects, so it is recommended to try other hair loss solutions first.

A purely cosmetic solution to male hair loss is hair weaves, in which natural-looking hair pieces are sewn into braided existing hair and then glued to hold them in place. Hair weaves can greatly improve the appearance of male hair loss, but they need to be replaced after several months and they can weaken the structure of the existing hair. They’re also difficult to apply to relatively short hair, so they should be done only by experienced practitioners and are only recommended as a temporary response to hair loss.

Another popular strategy for male hair loss is to simply shave the head and flaunt baldness. This solution was an unusual one when Yul Brenner and Telly Savalas chose it, but modern celebrities have made it more popular and most women today prefer the look of a natural bald head to artificial hairpieces. Some of the most well known celebrities who show off their male hair loss are Michael Jordan, Sean Connery, Bruce Willis, Patrick Stewart, Andre Agassi, Vin Diesel, Taye Diggs, Chris Daughtry, Jason Statham and Michael Rosenbaum.

The worst solution for male hair loss is the comb-over, in which one side of the hair is grown much longer than the other side and then is combed over the bald spot in order to cover it. This look is too obvious and is not recommended.

Acidity is agnated to heartburn and gas formation in stomach. The stomach usually secretes acid that is essential in the digestive process. This acid helps in breaking down the food while digestion. When there is excessive production of acid by the gastric glands of the stomach, it consequences in the condition known as acidity. Acidity is accountable for symptoms like dyspepsia, heartburn and the formation of ulcers.

Acidity tends to have a much higher prevalence in highly emotional and nervous individuals. It is also more common in the developed and industrialised nations, although a recent increase in incidence has also emerged in the developing countries. Gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD) or acidity is caused by several factors.

Stomach have different enzymes and hydrochloric acids which help in food digestion. Failure of the system to excrete the poisons from the body. Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs is also caused of acidity. Excess intake of caffeine also leads to acidity. Excessive intake of alcohol, smoking, keeping stomach empty for long time, truanting breakfast causes acidity.

Other causes of acidity or heartburn are pregnancy, aging, obesity, and bad eating habit, such as eating junk foods. Acidity leads to burning sensation in stomach and chest area. Immoderate large amounts of acid secretion occur in certain situations, such as in a condition known as Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, in which large amounts of secretion are stimulated by tumours located in the pancreas or duodenum.

The most common signification is dyspepsia, a burning or aching pain in the upper abdomen sometimes described as a “stabbing feeling penetrating through the width of the gut. Patient with hernia are at a risk of developing acid reflux or acidity. A better option is to go in for acidity home remedy treatment.

Home remedy for acidity is natural and consequently is absolutely safe for the human body. Amla is a natural and effective herb which helps in curing many diseases such as diabetes, indigestion, heartburn. Drink daily a 1 tsp juice of chebulic myroblan mixed with 1 tsp of amla (Indian gooseberry) juice. Drink a glass of cold milk for fast relaxation of heartburn and acidity. Mash almond leaves in water and apply on the area, it will also help in the treatment of eczema.

Head lice plagues have become more common in recent years. Head lice infestations are a common complication in infants and children. The most common symptom of children infected with head lice is itching, however some children do not complain if they have a light infestation. These bites can then become infected, and may loom red or crusty, and may lead to your child developing swollen lymph glands in his neck.

Having head lice (pediculus humanus capitas) is a common issue in school age children. The lice travel fast between children and they favour clean, oil free hair. The female louse has ability of laying over 100 eggs every 10 - 12 days. The eggs (called nits) are entombed at the base of the hair. The lice and their eggs are viewable to the naked eye.

They generally cause terrible itching and hence are frequently detected by an adult when head scratching is observed. Lice are wingless and are not able to jump, but they climb quickly from hair to hair when the hair is dry. Lice move slowly on wet hair and can be effaced more easily with a gloved hand or a fine-toothed comb.

Many of the activities that children indulge in at school require them to interact closely. Their heads are usually together. This makes it simple for the lice to move from one head to the following. Retaining greater distance between heads or the placement of a barrier between heads are the perfect ways to prevent the spread. The main treatments for head lice generally involve using a head lice shampoo, like Rid or Nix.

For lice in eyelashes, apply Vaseline to the eyelashes twice a day for a week to eradicate them. Herbal rinses are very helpful in purging the lice and eggs. Thyme oil, sassafras, aniseed and lavender all perform well. After a treatment, put some olive or coconut oil to the scalp to forfend dryness and to loosen the eggs. Daily use a comb or brush and hair clips to remove tangles and detach your child’s hair into sections.

Vacuum to remove all lice and hairs with attached nits from furniture, rugs, stuffed animals and car seats. Keep items which can not be washed or vacuumed into plastic bags for three weeks. You can also add tee tree oil or lavender oil to your routine shampoo. For every 100 ml (3 3/4 ounces) of shampoo add 25 drops of tee tree oil or 25 drops of lavender oil.

Cracked heels are a general foot problem. Cracked heels is a situation of thickening and fissuring of the skin on the heel of the foot. Cracked heels are commonly caused by dry skin (xerosis), and made more problematic if the skin surrounding the rim of the heel is thick (callus). Cracked heels are usually referred to as fissures. When the fissures are deep, the skin bleeds easily and causes a lot of pain.

Cracked heels are often known as fissures. Occassionally it may get deep into the dermis and become painful. Extreme pressure on the feet pads make the feet want to expand sideways. As the skin, environing the sides of the feet are dry they crack and cause cracked heels. Complexion of cracked heels also indicate zinc and omega-3 fatty acid deficiency.

The heels emerges yellow or dark brown depending on the skin type and are normally accompanied by dry skin. Signs include a hard growth of skin, usually on the outer edge of the heel.

The health benefits realted with regular exercise are numerous. Exercise is very benefitial for minimizing the ‘plateau’ aftermath of dieting. Apply heat before exercise. It relaxes muscles and joints, as well as relives pain. After physical activity, ice joints to reduce swelling. Neglect exercising an actively inflamed joint, recent joint replacement, or any kind of damage that might cause physical instability.

Do not use heavy weights and avoid extending or flexing any joint to its highest position. Swimming is also a great way to exercise. It works almost every part of the body and is a great way to relax muscles and boost energy levels.

If you’re pregnant, taking care of yourself has never been more essential. A healthy diet will nourish your baby even before it is conceived. Pregnant women should avoid exposure to paint fumes. You will need to drink plenty of fluids and eat a healthy diet. Healthy eating is always critical, but specially when you’re pregnant.

Eating well earlier you are pregnant offers your body a store of nutrients for your baby, especially if you have a poor appetite during the first few weeks of pregnancy. Eat moderate amounts and pick lower fat versions whenever possible. They are a major source of protein, vitamins and minerals. Try to eat at least one portion of oily fish a week. Void liver and liver sausage that have large amounts of the animal form of vitamin A.

Cod liver oil supplements should also be avoided. Try not to take more than 8 units a week and no more than two units in a day. Eat or drink moderate amounts and choose lower fat versions when you can. Exposing milk to sunlight reduces the vitamin content and UHT milk has lower amounts of vitamins so use fresh milk whenever possible.

Avoid raw milk from cows, sheep and goats. Only drink pasteurised, sterilised or UHT milk. Hand-washing is important throughout the day, especially after handling raw meat or using the bathroom. Always wash your hands before and after preparing food. Wear a ancillary bra and properly fitting athletic shoes while exercising.

Always wash your hands before and after preparing food. Always wear gloves when gardening. Peanut allergy is increasing in children and it is supposed that it may be caused by being exposed to peanuts at a young age. Keep fridge temperature below 5 degrees C freezer below -18 degrees C.

Pregnancy is the carrying of one or more offspring, named as a fetus or embryo, inside the body of a female mammal such as a human, between conception and birth. Teenage pregnancy is defined in the United States as an underaged girl becoming pregnant with a baby. Teenage pregnancy rates remain high. In the United States, around 1 million teenage girls become pregnant every year.

Approximately 25% of teenage girls who give birth have another baby within 2 years. Teen pregnancy is an important issue. There are health risks to the baby and children born to teenage mothers are more probably to have health, social, and emotional problems. Pregnant teens and those who have newly given birth should be encouraged.

Pregnant women need to be aware that toxoplasmosis can cause complications with pregnancy, including abortion. Teen pregnancy has negative results for both the mother and the child. Teen pregnancy and motherhood can have an affect upon younger siblings.

Teenage pregnancies are correlated with an advanced rate of delinquent behaviors in the fathers, including alcohol and substance abuse, lower educational level, and reduced earning potential. Giving up infants for adoption after delivery is another option. Neglect narrow goals such as changing attitudes or values alone.

Teenagers required to be more educated about themselves and their bodies as well as ways to protect themselves from getting pregnant. Carefully define specific short- and long-term program goals.

Miscarriage is the most natural type of pregnancy loss. Miscarriage is the most common problem of early pregnancy. About 15 percent of known pregnancies end in miscarriage. Miscarriage occurs in nearly 15-20% of all recognized pregnancies, and usually occurs prior the 13th week of pregnancy. The actual percentage of miscarriages is approximated to be as high as 50% of all pregnancies, since many miscarriages occur without the woman ever having known she was pregnant. It can occur in up to 20% of all recognized pregnancies. Most miscarriages (more than three-quarters) occur throughout the first trimester. Chromosomal abnormalities are present in more than half of embryos miscarried in the first 13 weeks.

A pregnancy having a genetic problem has a 95% chance of ending in miscarriage. Another cause of early miscarriage may be progesterone insufficiency. High blood pressure and few illnesses (such as rubella and chlamydia) enhances the risk of miscarriage. Women who smoke or drink alcohol in pregnancy have a greater risk of miscarriage than do nonsmokers and women who neglect alcohol during pregnancy. A woman who may be showing the signs of a normal miscarriage may hear the term “threatened abortion” used to describe her situation. Two types of miscarriage are Threatened miscarriage and Missed miscarriage. Complete miscarriage refers that the pregnancy has been lost, the uterus is now empty and the cervix has closed.

Surgical treatment involves an operation to empty the uterus. Avoid environmental hazards such as radiation, infectious disease and x-rays. Many miscarriages which are caused by systemic diseases can be protected by detecting and treating the disease before becoming pregnant. Medical management generally comprised of using misoprostol (a prostaglandin, brand name Cytotec) to encourage completion of the miscarriage. Do not smoke or be around smoke. Avoid alcohol, nicotine, and street drugs, especially cocaine, during pregnancy. Get prenatal care and follow the advice of your health care provider (family doctor, obstetrician, midwife).

Morning sickness not only happens in the morning. For many women it is bad in the morning, but it can affect you any time of the day and for most of us it is “all-day-every-day” sickness. Morning sickness is the disgusted feeling you get during pregnancy. Morning sickness is not injurious to you or your baby. Morning sickness may occur at any time of the day, though it occurs most often upon waking, as blood sugar levels are mainly the lowest after a night without food.

Frequently rising levels of the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) during early pregnancy cause of morning sickness. Another cause is low blood sugar during pregnancy. An increase in progesterone slackens the muscles in the uterus, which prevents early childbirth, but may also relax the stomach and intestines, leading to excess stomach acids and increase in human chorionic gonadotropin.

Treatments for morning sickness generally aim to reduce the symptoms of nausea so eating dry crackers in the morning. Take more carbohydrates (plain baked potato, white rice, dry toast). Wearing “acupressure” wrist bands, which are occassionally used by passengers on boats to prevent sea sickness, may help some women who have morning sickness.

Have plenty of rest and nap during the day. Eating five or six small meals per day, rather than three large ones. The iron in prenatal vitamins can annoy some women. Try gelatin desserts (Jell-O), flavored frozen desserts (popsicles), chicken broths, ginger ale (nondiet), sugared decaffeinated or herbal teas, and pretzels. Vitamin B6 (either pyridoxine or pyridoxamine), normally taken in combination with the antihistamine doxylamine.

Lemons, basically the smelling of freshly cut lemons. Dodge spicy and fried food - both eating and smelling it can increase your nausea. Eating that is salty before a meal can help you “make it through” a meal. Do not drink fluids with your meals. Do not lie down after eating. Do not dismiss meals.
