Bird Fever
Bird fever is an contagious disease of bird and people can get it from sick birds. Infected parrots, parakeets, turkeys, chickens, ducks, peasants and pigeons are the principal bearers. The virus invades the respiratory tract once it is inhaled into the body. Most people who have developed symptoms have had close contact with sick birds, although in some cases, bird flu has transferred from one person to another. Other birds which may also spread C . psittaci include pigeons, doves, mynah birds, and turkeys. Birds that are carrying the organism may appear healthy, but can exuviate it in their feces. Further symptoms include coughing, difficulty breathing, abdominal anxiety and death.
Staying away from sick birds in the prefect way to avoid this virus. Bird fever has no immunization and be cautious when you buy your child a pet. Severe symptoms with a large embranglment of the lungs, other organs, and/or bone marrow require treatment with specific antifungal drugs. In humans, parrot fever can range in stringency from minor flu-like symptoms to severe and life-threatening pneumonia. It is very severe health disease.
This disease may be severe and outcome is death without treatment. The gruesome scenario would be a global epidemic to rival the flu pandemic of 1918 and 1919, which claimed millions of lives worldwide. For now, researchers are trying to develop a vaccine which would shield people in the event of a bird flu pandemic. Sick birds can be treated with antibiotics by a veterinarian.
