Gonnorrhea - Symptoms & Treatment


Gonorrhea is an infection of the genitourinary tract (especially the urethra and cervix) and, occasionally, the pharynx, and eyes. A common but curable transmitted disease. Gonorrhea of the throat rarely causes sore throat/pharyngitis, and chlamydia generally doesn't infect the throat at all. Gonorrhea is especially prevalent among young people and in people with multiple partners. It can be transmitted by contact with infected person. It is commonly found in young adults, active teenagers.

Symptoms of Gonnorrhea

The symptoms of Gonnorrhea may progress to cramping, bleeding between menstrual periods, vomiting, and pain, indicating the development of PID. Other possible symptoms include pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and rectal burning, itching, and bloody mucopurulent discharge, the folowing symptoms are include:

  • Frequency in urination
  • Burning and stinging sensation during urination.
  • Severe pain during activities.
  • Swollen and painful testicles.
  • Itching and painful bowel movements
  • Sore throat
  • Heavy bleeding during menstrual periods.
  • Itching, redness and discharge from the eye.

Cases of Gonnorrhea

Transmission of Neisseria gonorrhea, the organism that causes gonorrhea, almost always follows contact with an infected person. It can easily transmit from mother to baby during delivery. It can be transmitted by contact with infected person.

  • Infection of Neisseria gonorrhoeae can be transmitted to other parts of the body.
  • Increased risk of getting other transmitted diseases such as HIV.
  • Infection of bacteria may be transmitted into fallopian tubes and uterus and developing PID (Pelvic inflammatory disease).
  • There are chances of getting anorectal gonorrhea without treating gonorrhea.
  • Irritation in throat and tonsils
  • It can be possible to spread the infection to the eye.

Treaetmento of Gonnorrhea

Presumptive treatment of Gonnorrhea concurrent Chlamydia trachomatis infection, the clinician may prescribe doxycycline (Vibramycin) or azithromycin (Zithromax) with the ceftriaxone. there are herbs and minerals that may be used to supplement antibiotic treatment:

  • Several herbs may reduce some symptoms or help speed healing: kelp has balanced vitamins and minerals. Calendula, myrrh, and thuja may help reduce discharge and inflammation when used as a tea or douche.
  • There may be acupressure and acupuncture points that will help with system cleansing. These exact pressure points can be provided and treated by an acupressurist or acupuncturist.
  • An antibiotic medication will be prescribed by the health care providers to treat gonorrhea

Prevention tips

  • You should use latex condoms during activities.
  • You should avoid contact with infected person.
  • You should avoid multiple partners.
  • You should converse about STD with your partner.
